Our daughter spent two weeks at Amplify Sleep Away Camp this summer, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, the experience was positive, enriching, and truly memorable. What sets Amplify apart is the staff. Emma, Marley, and Jen went above and beyond in every way. Their care, attention to detail, and genuine consideration for each camper is second to none. That level of dedication is incredibly rare to find, and it made all the difference in our daughter's experience. We've attended other well-known programs, including Interlochen, and Amplify stands out as the best. The program itself is thoughtfully designed, and combined with a staff that truly cares, it creates something special. We cannot recommend Amplify highly enough. Our daughter came home happy, confident, and already asking to go back next summer. Thank you, Amplify!

I’m elated that my daughter went to Amplify Sleepaway Camp this year. We had known about the camp for some time but the cost was a prohibitive factor. Honestly, the things I have seen the kids do while at camp are amazing. Both my wife and I were so jealous of our daughter, which is, I guess, what every parent wants for their kid, to have more opportunities than they had. But I really enjoyed watching the videos and pictures and was super excited to hear all the adventures that my daughter had. The counselors were really sweet but also firm with the kids. The campers also get to go to on a retreat in the middle of their two weeks there and have a concert at the end of camp called Campchella. Our daughter was excited to go back and maybe perform, but it’s not like that, it’s like a festival just for the campers. It’s really a great experience and some of the bands from other sessions came back to play for the girls. My daughter really connected with the artists and enjoyed working on the magazine as well. One thing I will say is it gets super dark up there, might be a good idea to pack a headlamp. While being creative, the girls oftentimes are just hanging out so pack lots of light lounge wear. Lastly, be prepared for wildlife, my daughter was like, “Oh yeah, that’s a bald eagle” ( points unenthusiastically skyward). There’s also a camp dog, he’s adorbs! 10/10 experience and definitely would do again. We are encouraging our daughter to try playing an instrument in preparation for camp. I think it adds another layer when you can play an instrument and get some feedback in that respect.

We sent our fifteen year old daughter to Amplify for the first time this Summer, and she had an amazing time! We would highly recommend Amplify for any girl that is passionate about music or art- especially middle and high schoolers trying to find themselves in the world while being pulled every which way by social media. For a bit of context, our daughter has had a passion for singing since she was able to sing. From singing in the car as a toddler, to completely filling both her iPad and the family iCloud account with videos of herself singing along to her favorite artists during COVID lockdowns, she was always singing. But the insecurity and bullying that came with middle school and high school stifled that for her, and singing became something that she did in secret. She insisted she wanted to pursue a career as a singer, but she was afraid to let anyone hear her voice. When we read up a little more on Amplify and the positive environment and opportunities that they provide for girls to explore various aspects of the music industry, we decided it would be just the confidence boost that she needed to come out of her shell and let her voice be heard. While the girls are at camp, parents are kept informed through the camp’s social media groups for parents of campers, and through the bunk1 app, both of which feature pictures and videos that are uploaded every day or two. We loved seeing pictures and videos of the girls having fun and interacting with the various visiting artists. If any issues or questions came up, camp staff would text us to keep us in the loop, such as when our daughter wanted to change her intensive on the second day of camp. She also sent us an amazing video of our daughter practicing with her band. That’s right, the girl that was afraid to sing in front of anyone was singing confidently and beautifully with her band on the second day of camp! She also performed in the camp talent show, and (after a little bit of jitters) the camp showcase! I haven’t seen our daughter’s performance video yet (I heard that they send out the full performance videos later in the year), but the pure joy I saw in the videos that were posted from the talent show was absolutely infectious! The girls are so supportive of the other bands, dancing and singing along to the lyrics as they cover songs from artists ranging from Bikini Kill to Billie Eilish! Besides practicing and performing with her band, the biggest highlights of the camp for our daughter were the performances from visiting artists. Each two week session features visits from well-known and emerging female artists. During our daughter’s session, Lisa Loeb and Emi Grace both visited the camp, performing for the girls, answering questions about their experiences as musicians, and signing autographs. During session three, the camp also invites campers from all sessions back for Campchella, an all day music festival featuring some of the artists from each session and over fifteen artists in total. Emi Grace quickly became one of my daughter’s favorite artists during her visit to camp, so she was super excited to see Emi perform a second time at camp before she headed off to Chicago for her Lollapalooza gig! Overall, I’m really impressed with Amplify and the positive impact it had on my daughter. My daughter loved the music aspect the most, but I feel like Amplify is so much more than just a music camp. It’s a totally accepting and inclusive community of creative girls coming together to grow, learn, and have fun, without a cell phone in sight! From starting bands and songwriting, to photography, album design, and fashion design, to working on Cuqui magazine, to musical theatre, there’s something for every interest. I love how Amplify brings the community and diy spirit that I grew up with in the 90s riot grrl scene to a new generation! Girls to the front!

My daughter always has a phenomenal time at Amplify! We travel far to make sure she has an amazing summer experience and Amplify never fails! Thank you so much, the Fine Arts program is just what our child needs, loves and immerses herself into each Summer and it’s such a powerful couple of weeks for her. Thanks again!!

My daughter felt so loved here. She left with confidence, a new talent, and lots of new friends. Staff went out of their way to learn her name, cheer her on, and give her the rock star treatment. Amplify has become one of our favorite summer traditions. See you next year!

Our daughter attended Amplify last Summer and is now back for all three sessions this year. Amplify has literally changed her life. In fact, she was so intent on coming back this Summer to do the rock band intensive that she spent the entire year doing weekly lessons and practicing to really improve her guitar playing. It's been just incredible to see her blossom and come into her own more both creatively and socially. Love how thoughtful, inclusive and empowering Amplify is and extremely grateful that there's a camp dedicated to girls expressing themselves and supporting one another, especially in beautiful Ojai. My 12-year-old went to Amplify for the first time, and she had the BEST time. We drove in from out of state, and it was absolutely worth it. She chose the rock band intensive, where she learned to play bass and collaborated with her bandmates and instructors, Effy and Sarah, to write and perform an original song at the end of camp on stage. She was so excited when other girls asked for her autograph after the performance! The best part of the experience was that she found "her people." She met girls who were kind, encouraging, supportive, and just a little edgier, which made her feel like she truly belonged. She also loved that professional all-girl bands came to camp to perform and stayed afterward for Q&A sessions with the girls. One of her favorite days was Field Day, which still makes me laugh because she hates PE at school. As a parent, I really appreciated that the camp nurse called before camp to discuss my daughter's medical needs and medications. The dining staff also did a great job accommodating her dairy-free diet with plenty of vegan options. She had all good things to say about the counselors, especially Chloe. The campus was beautiful and clean, and drop-off and pickup were both organized and easy. My daughter came home more confident, with new skills, deeper friendship, and memories she'll never forget. Before we were even home, she was already asking if she could come back next year and stay longer than two weeks. I think that says a lot.

Picking up my daughter from Amplify was a jumble of emotions. The stakes were high for me. I, like any parent, wanted the best experience for her. It had been a tough couple of years and at 12 years old, I could feel her letting go of my hand and reaching out to something else. It was painful for me to see her feeling like she wasn’t good enough, cool enough, etc. We did all the things. Open communication, therapist, no pressure, structure, support, love. My sweet little girl, who had been taking drum lessons since she was 4 years old and who was an amazing drummer, had never played with other people or wanted people to see her play in case she was not perfect. What she loved turned into a source of pain. We encouraged her to take a break and she did. This summer was looking like it was going to be the summer of anxiety due to no interest in any kind of camps. I received an email from Amplify. The website echoed the enthusiasm of the email. Acceptance, encouraging, confidence. I showed it to my daughter and she told me yes, she was interested. The first spark of hope I had felt in months. I had to think about it. She came to me a few days later and asked Amplify again. “I could play drums.”, she offered. We made it happen. Because if you can, you do. At drop off, she barely spoke the whole ride up. We stood silently in that parking lot awkwardly waiting for the pass van. She was so terrified that she looked frozen to me. “Is your name Bella? “, the young van driver asked. Bella lit up as did I. “I recognize you from your photo”, the woman said with a smile. That is how I left her, talking music with a camp counselor. Two weeks later I sat with Bella at the family brunch. She was distant and my heart was heavy. We sat inside a little tent on the grass which was in front of the stage where the kids performed for their peers. We ate silently, until I looked over and saw the tears streaming silently down her face. I hugged her. She missed me and she didn’t want to leave. Two opposing feelings at once. It was overwhelming. Once the tears stopped, the talking slowly started. Two weeks later, it’s still going. The friends that she made, things she realized about herself, how she was comfortable being herself. How she felt playing drums, what it was like to play with other people, how everyone at Amplify made her feel happy and confident. How she wants to go back next year. And she started drums again because she wanted to. Thank you Amplify staff for caring so much.

I truly don't even know if words can explain what Amplify Summer Camp has done for my daughter and our family. It started before camp even began. During the Zoom meeting where the staff introduced themselves, answered questions, and talked about the Amplify experience, I had tears in my eyes. I remember thinking, "Maybe this is where Hazel will finally find her people." Then Emma, the Assistant Camp Director, emailed me with questions because she genuinely wanted to get to know Hazel before she arrived. She asked for a picture, and of course I sent one of Hazel with her beloved taxidermy fox, Mr. Foxy. Emma immediately sent me a picture back of her own fox. It was such a small interaction, but as a mom, it meant everything. I explained that Hazel is autistic and had experienced an incredibly difficult year with her mental health, school, and friendships. Emma promised me they would do everything they could to make camp an amazing experience for her. And they absolutely did. From the second we arrived, every counselor at check-in was excited, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They even acted excited to meet Mr. Foxy! I was also incredibly impressed by the attention to detail from the camp nurse regarding medications and the health checks they performed on every new camper. Two weeks with no electronics and almost no communication with my daughter—who had never spent even ONE night away from me—was terrifying for me. But then I started seeing little videos of Hazel absolutely KILLING IT at karaoke. I saw pictures of her helping other campers during her songwriting immersive. When staff noticed she might be having a rough day, they called me and asked for tips on how to best support her. They didn't wait for things to become a problem. They paid attention. They cared. Hazel camped, played games, took group classes, created music, and experienced so many new things. Every single picture Amplify posted that included Hazel showed the happiest, most genuine smile I have ever seen on my daughter. At the final showcase, they sent me a little clip of her performing, and the confidence I saw in her was beautiful. When we arrived to pick her up, every counselor I met who realized I was Hazel's mom immediately started telling me about her growth, her talent, and how amazing she was. And then I finally saw her. I have never seen my daughter that happy. Her number one takeaway from camp was that she learned not to be afraid to talk to people. She learned that there are people in this world who will accept her and love her exactly as she is. Amplify's mission of girl power, acceptance, confidence, and friendship isn't just something written on a website or a piece of paper. It is real. They live it every single day, and the campers feel it. My girl, who had never spent one night away from me, completed two weeks at camp with no electronics and no communication with home flawlessly—and she cannot wait to return for FOUR weeks at Amplify next summer. The confidence and growth I have seen in Hazel is nothing short of amazing. I will forever be grateful to Emma, the counselors, and every single person at Amplify who gave my daughter a place to find her people. ❤️

This was my daughter’s first sleepaway camp. She grew 2” in two weeks and came back with endless stories and a heart full of joy and confidence. She’s been counting down the days to next summer 🙂 what an incredible feeling to give the gift of independence while knowing she’s well taken care of!!

This is truly the best camp ever! My daughter was introduced to it two years ago, and she fell in love instantly — with the camp, the program, the counselors, everything. She made so many amazing friends and is still in touch with many of them today. I’ll never forget picking her up that first year: she was literally surrounded by about ten friends and didn’t want to leave! 🤷🏻‍♀️ And that was her first sleepaway camp experience. She talked about camp nonstop for weeks afterward and counted down the days until she could go back. This year was just as incredible — even better, actually — because some of the same kids returned, and the sense of community was so strong. The music program is fantastic. She plays several instruments, and the camp gave her opportunities to grow, explore, and truly enjoy herself. If you’re considering a camp for your child, send them here. You’ll never look for another camp again — I promise.

Our daughter has attended Camp Amplify for the last two summers and it has been incredible watching her blossom, explore her creativity and grow her independence. The campus is truly idyllic, with beautiful views and wonderful facilities and the community is wonderfully inclusive with girls from all over the country. What means the most to us is knowing she’s in a space where she’s truly safe to explore who she is, surrounded by people who genuinely care for her. Camp Amplify strikes the perfect balance of engaging classes and open time to dream, create and just be a kid. Such a special place.

I was truly impressed by the incredible journey of the 2025 Amplify Camp. I believe it was all made possible thanks to the passion and dedication of the staff and campers throughout the experience. For my daughter, it was her first-ever sleepaway camp, and she struggled with homesickness at the beginning. But thanks to the support of the amazing staff and the friends she met at Amplify, she gradually opened up and fully immersed herself in the camp experience. She doesn’t even want to leave from Amplify at last. My daughter—who loves music deeply—joined the camp all the way from Korea, and the long flight was more than worth it. It became a precious, lifelong memory for her. Beyond music, the camp offered diverse opportunities such as swimming, skateboarding, and art. Above all, I felt it was truly meaningful that the children learned, communicated, and grew together through their shared experiences. Naturally, my daughter says she will join the next camp without hesitation, and she hopes to see her beloved staff and friends again. She will cherish the meaningful memories and lessons she gained from Amplify. Thank you once again to everyone—staff and campers—for making this such a wonderful and unforgettable journey.

Even though I haven’t attended Amplify Camp yet, I’ve been really impressed with how responsive and friendly their team is over email. They answer questions quickly, clearly, and with a lot of warmth. Their communication has already made me feel confident and excited about getting involved

Our daughter loved Camp Amplify! She attended for 2 weeks, over the summer of ‘25. From the amazing staff to the welcoming campers, she felt safe and comfortable to create! At camp amplify the students are encouraged to explore who they are through music and play. It was a great experience for E, and we would definitely send her again!

I came here when I was shy, young, and afraid. I was twelve years old when I first came to Amplify (I’m fifteen now), and I’m so grateful for all the people I’ve met and the things I was able to do. I have a hard time expressing myself through words unless I have some kind of speech I’ve planned out already. But, life doesn't really let you plan out your future without some bumps in the road. But I was always able to express my feeling through art. Whether that’s fashion, music, or painting. I was able to do it. And it felt natural. I had that same feeling when I was at Amplify my first year. Everything felt NATURAL. Being surrounded by girls just like me. It’s beautiful.

My grand-daughter Sage attended this camp and when she came back she was absolutely ecstatic. She raved about it for weeks and is counting down the days to when the recording of the final showcase comes out. She is so excited to go back next summer.
