Minors
At camp, campers can now sign up for our new Minors program, where they can choose a secondary focus like music production and creating their own demo, podcasting, or skateboarding. Minors provide additional learning opportunities but don’t replace time spent in their immersive Majors or Electives.
SONGWRITING & MUSIC PRODUCTION: CREATE YOUR OWN DEMO
At Amplify, budding songwriters will immerse themselves in the craft of songwriting and music production, using industry-standard software like Ableton. Campers will learn how to write, arrange, and produce their own songs, bringing their musical ideas to life from start to finish. They’ll dive into the intricacies of lyric writing, melody creation, and beat making, all while gaining hands-on experience in sound design and mixing. By the end of the session, each camper will have produced their own demo, ready to share with the world, showcasing the unique voice and sound they’ve developed throughout the program. This minor empowers young musicians to confidently express their creativity and refine their skills in a supportive environment.
Film Making
At Amplify, campers who choose filmmaking as their minor will dive into the exciting world of visual storytelling. They’ll learn the fundamentals of scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, and editing, using professional-grade equipment and software to bring their creative visions to life. The program emphasizes collaboration, allowing campers to work together on projects while also exploring their individual artistic styles. From concept to final cut, campers will gain hands-on experience in every aspect of film production, culminating in their very own short films that showcase their talents and newfound skills. This minor provides a dynamic environment where aspiring filmmakers can develop their craft and share their stories with the world.
Learn to DJ
At Amplify, campers who choose DJing as their minor will learn the art of mixing tracks, beat-matching, and creating seamless transitions. They’ll get hands-on experience with professional DJ equipment and software, exploring different genres of music and building their own unique sound. The program encourages creativity and self-expression, allowing each camper to develop her DJ persona while gaining the confidence to perform live sets. Whether they’re interested in DJing as a hobby or a potential career, this minor offers an exciting and supportive environment to develop their skills and passion for music.

At Amplify, campers interested in skateboarding will have the opportunity to develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment. Whether they’re beginners or advanced skaters, participants will learn techniques for mastering tricks, improving balance, and building confidence on the board. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, campers will also explore the culture and history of skateboarding, fostering a deep appreciation for the sport. With a focus on safety, creativity, and personal growth, this program empowers campers to push their limits and express themselves through skateboarding.

At Amplify, campers with a passion for storytelling and audio production can dive into the world of podcasting. At Amplify, campers passionate about visual storytelling can immerse themselves in music video production. They’ll explore every step of the process, from conceptualizing the video’s theme and style to directing, shooting, and editing their own music videos. Using professional-grade cameras and editing software, campers will learn techniques in cinematography, lighting, and post-production. At Amplify, campers passionate about journalism will dive into the world of reporting, writing, and storytelling.
