Legends

9th–10th grade

LEGENDS are well on their way to being leaders in this summer experience that helps campers bridge the gap from adolescence to adulthood 😱

Campers grow and evolve every year… Their camp experience should, too! Every aspect of camp is fine-tuned to best nurture and support youth where they’re at (and where they’re going). That’s why older campers get additional privileges, challenges, and opportunities to be incredible role models to younger campers.

  • Choose all their own daily electives, allowing them to both pursue existing interests on a deeper level and explore lots of new areas
  • Exclusive night-time adventures such as glow-in-the-dark capture the flag, night hikes, stargazing parties, or even outdoor movie nights, which are reserved just for the 9th-10th grade group.
  • Mentor our younger campers (4th-8th grade), fostering leadership and responsibility while helping the younger campers navigate their camp experience.

  • A summer experience that helps campers bridge the gap from childhood to adolescence
  • Run our camp “hackathon” where teens work in small groups to brainstorm and design solutions to camp-related challenges, whether that’s improving sustainability, creating new camp programs, or enhancing community spirit. It develops teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Keep track of their own daily schedules
  • Evening free time block and later bed time
  • MC the talent show
  • Leadership opportunities include the chance to plan and lead awesome camp-wide events, like the mid-session dance party!
  • Community-based environment promotes healthy, low-pressure growth experience to become empathetic adults

Meet Emma, AM Lead

Hi, I’m Emma! This is my second summer working at Amplify, and I’m excited to be the AM Lead this year. I grew up going to camp at Omaha Girls Rock in Nebraska, which sparked my love for empowering, youth-centric spaces. I recently graduated from St. Olaf College in Minnesota. When I’m not at Amplify, you can usually find me in the studio, experimenting with monotype, intaglio, and stone lithography printmaking.
